The Paderno World Cuisine Tri-Blade Spiral Vegetable Slicer is a hand-operated tool that quickly creates noodle-like strands of vegetables and fruits. It is often called a turning slicer or a “spiralizer”.
This Paderno Spiral Slicer model A4982799 is one of many products made and sold by Paderno World Cuisine to the restaurant and hospitality industry and to retail marketers for home use.
The frame of the spiral slicer and the plates that hold the stainless steel blades are made of a rigid, high impact plastic that is BPA free. The frame has 4 suction feet with tabs for easy release. Since it is a hand operated tool it does not require batteries or an AC outlet. The Paderno World Cuisine Tri Blade Spiral Slicer does indeed come with 3 sets of stainless steel blades:
- the shredder blade for long spaghetti-like spiral strands (1/8 inch)
- the chipper blade for long thicker spiral strands (1/4 inch)
- the flat blade that produces long ribbon-like strands
I spiralized some vegetables with each blade to show you how they look. The first picture is a zucchini sliced using the shredder blade making noodles about the side of regular spaghetti. The center picture is a sweet potato cut with the chipper blade to look like curly fries. They are thinner though than the curly fries you would get at a restaurant. On the right is an apple cut with the flat blade. Vegetables that are firm and straight work the best.
